I wanna shoop baby

What is UP? It's been a long while since I updated...and as always, I just know you've been waiting with bated breath until I got back to it. So let's see...

I made the trek to Atlanta which was an absolutely breath-taking drive. It was refreshing after a day at work to see the green hills and trees and the Tennessee River and just really pretty summer time Southland nature. Good job, God. Seeing Sara Ed was so so so great and we got to catch up and spend good times together. Evita was really an amazing show, and I got to see all the blocking from the last row of the balcony at the Fox Theatre :). Even though my seats weren't the greatest, I still really enjoyed myself and could pick Ed out in every number! It was a quick trip but definitely worth it.

The week after that I had lots of fun stuff going on, in addition to work which is EVER busier. I volunteered with the Williamson County Republican Party at a fundraising event and met some really nice people and also scoped out some very attractive, well-to-do and seemingly intelligent boys. I love the fact that I'm back in a place where men embrace seersucker, chinos, polos, loafers, etc. with pride. Just my kind of peeps ;-). Also that week, some friends and I had a Sex and the City viewing party -- the first of many more to come. We watched half of season one and had treats and good conversation. Then Saturday night we hit up the Marc Broussard concert at Mercy Lounge. Y'all, he's AMAZING! Please, please check him out if you get the chance. Wow, it was an awesome concert.

Last week I spent some quality time with my sissy in Florida, sunning and eating, eating and sunning. What more could I ask for?! We had fun looking for fashion faux pas on the beach, singing early 90s tunes and proving ourselves (once again) to have some sort of psychic connection. We also made a DELICIOUS dinner for our hosts (Beth's college roomie and her husband: Erica and Ryan) -- pecan chicken strips, creamed corn with shallots, green beans, and key lime pie. It was pretty spectacular, let me tell ya. Oh, we also went to this piano bar called Howl at the Moon where they play songs and the whole place can sing along and be loud and drink margaritas out of BUCKETS! haha We were maybe slightly obnoxious with our singing, especially when we requested the UK fight song....no shame. Those Gators fans were not impressed. All in all, a good time was had, I love my sister dearly. I also liked sharing her makeup :).

So now we've hit this week. The students are all back to school and so life has certainly become a whirlwind rather quickly. I'm finally starting to understand more about what I'm actually going to be dealing with these next months. More to come! I do miss my actual job in D.C....the job part was good. Kirstin's up there now though and hopefully enjoying it too!! Small world, yes it is.

Tonight I'm headed to another concert, Dave Barnes at the Exit/In with the girls -- Mary Anna, Lisa, Amanda, Emily, Rhonda, Lana, Amy, maybe some others? -- anyway, should be fun. That's the thing about Nashville, there's always somebody playing somewhere for cheap that's worth seeing. Tomorrow I'm burnin up the road between here and KY -- family gathering of my dad's fam at the Scott Farm, then headed back to N-ville for an evening of fun at the Wilson County Fair. I'll be exhausted but it will be worth it.

OKAY, that's all for me for now. That was really non-exciting and mostly a calendar of events in my life. Do you really care? I don't care if you do, that's what you're getting today. I miss my OCU friends and especially being together AT school. I'm so proud to hear rush was wonderful and that the year is off to a good start. But I really do miss it ALL. K, y'all take care and leave me love!
